To All:
I do not know who are the "others" Mike refers to nor have I been told what
he and others have "heard".
Of the hundreds of conversations I have had about the North 40, the person
I spoke with the longest and with the most detail is Tom Yuki.
My three hour conversations with Tom and Milt Mintz covered topics in far
greater depth and detail than all my meetings with town officials, combined!
In the interest of clarity, and at the risk of violating the
confidentiality , I would like release a couple of private correspondences
with Dr. Fox without further comment. Please read them both.
The bottom line is that it is now time to draw up the long term plan for a
fully functioning North Los Gatos.

properties belong to the Yuki's and which do not. You will note that there
are many properties to the northern end of lot which would be available
sooner.

plan. The instructions I was given were to get a drawing made up of the
entire North Los Gatos concept. This is why I am soliciting ideas to get
them in a format for an architect to render.

strong views that transit must provide an alternative to cars. He
understands it may not be faster or more convenient, but he wants to see
some functional alternative. He will require a strong transit component.
>
>3. Tom believes in dense development, specifically including underground
parking, arcades, and neighborhood access. He has seen many developments
overseas and does not wish to waste space to surface parking.
>
>4. Nothing is going to happen till his mother dies. "The next generation
will decide". And, having had his familiy's land stolen by a government
once before (1942) he does want to see it happen again.

>For these reasons, I suggest you place the childrens hospital in the
context of an overall plan . I also stress that the site begin with non
Yuki land purchases and 99 year leases of some small portion of northern
Yuki land until the family is ready to act on the remaining development.

>It therefore would be good to plan your hospital in a modular fashion:
Perhaps beginning with an isolated core facility at the corner of
Samaritan an LGB, with the expectation that offices and peripheral services
be integrated along the northern end of the below grade arcade.

>This way you leave space for a transit facility just behind your site and
minimize intrusion into Yuki land.

>Please let me the particulars of square feet of hospital, office, parking
spaces, heliport....etc that the operation would need. I will attempt to
lay them out into an overall plan and post them at the web site.
